Stewardship |
"For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required" (Luke 12:48) In addition, we have opportunities to support our national Church (the Archdiocese) and our own regional Church (the Metropolis). Two major fundraising efforts have been undertaken in the Metropolis of Denver: Advocates 1000, which supports the operational expenses of the Metropolis Center, and Eliminate the Debt, which will retire the mortgage on the Metropolis Center. Support your local parish and support the philanthropic ministries of the church through IOCC and OCMC. For those moved to do more, we invite you to support the Metropolis. |
Advocates 1000 |
Advocates 1000 is a stewardship program whose sole purpose is to pay the routine operational expenses of running the Metropolis Center and Chancery office. It was formed in 2003 at the Metropolis Clergy-Laity Assembly held at Saint Catherine parish in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The 2006 Expense Report clearly states exactly how funds from this program were disbursed for this purpose. |
The Advocates 1000 program is overseen by the Metropolis Council, which elected Ms. Elaine Cladis to be the its coordinator. She receipts all contributions, and prepares all related correspondence for His Eminence Metroplitan Isaiah. The most-recent Appeal Letter describes successful progress to date, and invites Metropolis stewards to make a pledge commitment No Advocate 1000 funds are used to pay principal or interest on the mortgage which paid for construction costs of the Metropolis Center. |

Individuals, couples, and parishes as well as other Church organizations have become
members of Advocates 1000 by contributing $1,000 per year to this Metropolis fund. Advocates 1000 contributions can be sent to:

Eliminate the Debt |
In November 2006, the Vice Chairman of the Metropolis Council, Dr. Lou Roussalis, sent out a letter anouncing an effort to eliminate the debt incurred in constructing the Metropolis Center. At present the remaining principal owed on the mortgage is $1,000,041. Every contribution to reduce this debt will be applied to the principal, and not to paying the interest. You are invited to contribute generously to eliminating this burden on the Church so that all resources and efforts can be focused on our important ongoing ministries and not on servicing this debt burden.
